Registration

Registration to attend is limited due to space available so don't miss out and register now.
There is a nominal registration fee of $80 per person for the two days and this is to cover the third-party costs of venue and catering. We believe this is value for money for the learning and networking you will experience.

Dinner

There will be an ASID Trainee Dinner held at Andiamo Trattoria Chippendale on Saturday evening. The cost is subsidised by the registration fee and only $50pp for a two-course meal including starters, pasta, pizza and salad. Beverages will be paid for individually on the night. This is a great opportunity to create lasting connections with like-minded colleagues. A highlight of the weekend!

Travel Grant

We are excited to open applications for the Trainee’s Weekend Travel Grants for this year’s event. These grants have been funded jointly by the Department of Health and Aged Care and RACP, to support access to education and training. In keeping with the purpose of this funding, preference will primarily be given to:

  • Trainees in rural/remote posts
  • Trainees who are faced with significant reasonable costs to attend

We encourage applications from those meeting one or both of these criteria, including from those who are working in large centres which service a rural/remote catchment.

Applicants must be current or incoming RACP or RCPA trainees in infectious diseases or microbiology. Applications will be scored based on criteria related to rural/remoteness, training year, access to previous trainee's weekend events, indigenous heritage, financial need, and your motivations for wanting to attend the trainee's weekend event.

There will be a total of 10 travel grants available, with a value of $750 each

Applications close on Sunday the 5th of October at 5pm AEST.

Please note the following terms:

  • For successful applicants, evidence of employment at your stated hospital and receipts for flights +/- accommodation will need to be provided to ASID
  • Reimbursement will be provided after Trainees Weekend up to the maximum value allocated
  • Reimbursement is for economy flights with without a flexible booking option, and should be booked as soon as practical after grants are allocated
  • Please refrain from booking an expensive airline when there is a suitable cheaper option available.
