ASID Aotearoa New Zealand ASM 2026 Abstract Submission Guidelines 


Abstract Submission Deadline: Midnight (AEST) Wednesday 19 August 2026

The main theme for ASID NZASM 2026 is: "ID for All"

Abstracts are welcomed relevant to achieving equitable care in infectious diseases across all geographic areas, across lifespan, and across primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare.

Abstract and author details must be submitted online using the ASID NZASM 2026 Abstract Submission Portal

  • Abstracts should be thoroughly checked for spelling and grammar. No editing will be conducted on behalf of authors and abstracts will be published as submitted. Edits to abstracts will not be permitted after submissions have closed. 
  • An abstract must be submitted by the presenting author and only the presenting author’s contact details should be used in the submission form 
  • Abstracts must be prepared in accordance with the guidelines below 
  • The panel will shortlist abstracts that are suitable for a 15-minute oral presentation.  If you do not wish to be selected for an oral presentation, please indicate this during the submission process.
  • Oral presentations and posters will be judged by a panel of committee members during the conference.  There will be prizes for the best presentations in both categories.
  • By submitting an abstract, the author automatically allows ASID to publish their abstract on the ASID website in the members area and in any format appropriate for the delivery of the program for the meeting.

DISCLOSURE OF INTEREST STATEMENT 

Disclosure of Interest Statement:

Example: “The Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases recognises the considerable contribution that industry partners make to professional and research activities. We also recognise the need for transparency of disclosure of potential conflicts of interest by acknowledging these relationships in

publications and presentations.”


Disclosure of interest statement – Industry:

Example 1. Organisation X declares payments to his institution for investigator-initiated research from Industry Company X.

Example 2. Organisation X has received donated materials from Industry Company X. All other authors declare no competing interests.

 
Acknowledgement of Funding

Example 1. This study was funded in part by the Government Body X.

Example 2. Organisation X receive grant funding from the Government Body X. No pharmaceutical / Industry grants were received for this study.

Note: If accepted into the program you will be requested to include a disclosure of interest slide into your presentation or include such statements in your poster.

 

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION 

Poster Abstract presenters will be required to fund their own attendance at the conference. 

All presenters will be required to register for the conference by the Early Bird date, Thursday 8 October 2026. Any presenter not registered by this date will be removed from the program.
