The Venue

The Wharewaka Function Centre, is conveniently located in the heart of Wellington, New Zealand. The Centre offers state of the art facilities and the room hosting our meeting is the Matiu Room, located on the first floor. The Matiu Room offers open spaces and natural light from floor to ceiling windows. 

The rooms also accommodate excellent audio-visual facilities to enable seamless presentations supported by the technical team.

Commonly referred to now as Te Wharewaka, this building was given the official name of 'Te Raukura' at an opening dawn Ceremony on Waitangi Day, Sunday 6 February 2011.  'Te Raukura' is of special significance to descendants from Taranaki iwi of Te Atiawa, Taranaki, Ngati Ruanui, Ngati Tama and Ngati Mutunga.  Previously the area where the building is located was harbour frontage to Te Aro Pā, one of the largest Māori communities in Wellington up until the 1880s.  The building sees the re-establishment of a Māori presence on Taranaki Wharf, notably absent on the waterfront since that time.

The Secretariat has negotiated special rates for our attendees. Rates include daily services, internet and are quoted ion NZD including GST. A credit card is required at the time of booking to secure your room. This card is kept in a secure online portal and is only accessible should your booking trigger the cancellation policy. Breakfast is available in the restaurant for $35 per person per day.

Over 30 days prior to arrival - no cancellation fee charged
29 days - 14 days prior to arrival date - one night's accommodation will be charged to your credit card.
Within 14 days of arrival date - All rooms cancelled, or no shows will be charged at the agreed rate for number of nights cancelled.
